The Guardian's correspondent Helena Smith writes that, in her countless years of covering Greek street demonstrations, she never witnessed police clearing the entire square by blocking off ALL entrance routes, as they did today. She also reports that this increasing police repression represents fears that social outrage may soon lead Parliament to be stormed by an angry multitude:
